Arrowhead-like flat

This huge piece of metal about 1.5" x 0.5" found its way into the tire. Half of it was sticking out of the tire. It happened about 20-30 yards from the South gate on the West sidewalk. I walked the bike to the end of the bridge sidewalk and applied an instant tire patch to the inside of the tire and wrapped the tube twice in tyvek, that fix got me home about 5 miles from where I got the flat. Freaky flat!
